About Me

Hello my name is Laura. I am a Birmingham City University Media and Communications graduate currently searching for work within the PR, social media and digital marketing sectors. After having a fantastic three years developing and refining my media expertise and skills I'm eager to get into the industry and back into what I enjoy!

I enjoy a variety of aspects of the media industry and have been able to explore and develop my knowledge and skills through research and practice modules, as well as outside of my course studies. Throughout my time at university I have completed modules in the music industries, television and events, which also incorporated a lot of digital marketing/social media strategy to promote projects. This has led to my final year dissertation project exploring "Pop punk through the eyes of its fans", which is a dissertation in the form of a cultural multimedia project- a fanzine- for which I received a grade of 2:1.

Outside of my studies I have been fortunate enough to have gained experience in gig photography, social media marketing campaigns and PR projects- all of which I have thoroughly enjoyed. These areas are my main career focus for building a career in the media industry.
